Walk with Llamas

Surrey Hills Llamas offers one of the most memorable family experiences in the county — the chance to walk a llama through some of the finest countryside in southern England. Based near Dorking in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the experience pairs each group with a friendly llama for a guided walk lasting around 90 minutes through rolling fields and woodland paths with panoramic views across the Weald.

Llamas are calm, curious and surprisingly easy to lead, making the walks suitable for children as well as adults. The experience begins with an introduction to the animals and basic handling guidance before heading out on the trail. It is a wonderfully relaxing alternative to the busier theme parks and farms, and the photographic opportunities are exceptional.

Booking & Practicalities

Walks must be pre-booked and run in small groups, so availability can be limited especially at weekends and during school holidays. The minimum age varies by session — check the website for family-friendly walk times. Wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing, as walks go ahead in light rain. The walks operate year-round but may be cancelled in very adverse weather. Exact meeting point details are provided upon booking.
