Biodynamic Winemaking on the North Downs

Founded in 2008 by Nick Wenman on land leased from the Duke of Northumberland as part of the historic Albury Estate. The first five acres were planted in 2009. By 2012 it achieved full Biodynamic certification, going beyond organic to incorporate holistic farming guided by natural rhythms. The chalky soil, clean air of the AONB, and south-facing aspect capture the Surrey sun.

The Diamond Jubilee Wine

Albury came to national attention in 2012 when the Silent Pool Rosé was served aboard the Royal Barge during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Since then, the vineyard’s wines have collected UKVA Gold Medals and Silver at the English and Welsh Wine of the Year Competition. Visitors can tour the vineyard, learn about biodynamic winemaking, and taste the full range beside Silent Pool, a spring-fed lake surrounded by local legend.
