A Royal Setting
Hampton Court Palace needs little introduction. The magnificent Tudor palace, built by Cardinal Wolsey and later seized by Henry VIII, is one of England’s greatest historic buildings. Weddings here take place in spaces that have hosted royal celebrations for over 500 years, from the soaring hammerbeam roof of the Great Hall to the elegant Georgian-era rooms overlooking the gardens.
The palace sits within 60 acres of world-famous gardens, including the celebrated Privy Garden, the Great Vine and the Maze. Few venues anywhere in the world can match the sense of occasion that comes with celebrating at a genuine royal palace on the banks of the Thames.
Ceremonies & Receptions
Hampton Court Palace is managed by Historic Royal Palaces and offers several spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The Great Hall, with its magnificent Tudor tapestries and hammerbeam ceiling, is available for ceremonies of up to 200 guests. The more intimate Cartoon Gallery and the King’s Great Entertaining Room provide alternatives for smaller celebrations.
Receptions can be held in the stunning Orangery or the 18th-century Georgian Rooms, with catering provided by the palace’s approved partners. The palace events team manages every aspect with meticulous care, ensuring your celebration sits comfortably within this extraordinary historic setting. Note that ceremonies are civil only.
