265 Acres of Surrey Wine Country

Denbies has been family owned since 1984, with vines planted in 1986. The estate takes its name from John Denby, who owned the farmhouse in the 16th century. In the mid-18th century it was converted into a gentleman’s residence by Jonathan Tyers, proprietor of the famous Vauxhall Gardens. Adrian White saw the potential of the south-facing chalk slopes for viticulture. With 265 acres under vine on a 380-acre estate, production capacity reaches approximately one million bottles, making it one of the UK’s largest single-estate vineyard wine producers.

Visiting Denbies

The chalk soils mirror those of Champagne, providing ideal growing conditions. Denbies offers indoor and outdoor vineyard tours (including a train tour through the vines), a gallery, farm shop, multiple restaurants, and seasonal events. The estate has collected multiple international golds for sparkling wines and achieved the first-ever gold for an English rosé wine.
