Richmond Park’s Hidden Gem
Pembroke Lodge is a Grade II listed Georgian mansion set within the royal parkland of Richmond Park. Originally a molecatcher’s cottage, the house was expanded over the centuries and became the childhood home of Bertrand Russell, whose grandparents were gifted the lodge by Queen Victoria. Today, it is one of the most romantic wedding venues in greater Surrey, combining elegant Georgian interiors with views that are genuinely breathtaking.
The lodge’s position at the highest point of Richmond Park means the views from the terrace stretch across the Thames Valley to Windsor Castle, some 20 miles distant. The surrounding parkland, with its ancient oaks and herds of deer, provides an extraordinary natural setting just minutes from central London.
Celebrations at the Lodge
Pembroke Lodge offers exclusive-use wedding packages that include the house, terraces and surrounding gardens. The Russell Suite, with its large bay windows overlooking the Thames Valley, is licensed for civil ceremonies of up to 100 guests. The Belvedere Suite provides an alternative for larger receptions of up to 130 guests.
The venue’s in-house catering team creates seasonal menus using locally sourced ingredients, and the events team coordinates every detail from initial planning through to the day itself. The terrace and gardens are available for drinks receptions and photographs, with Richmond Park’s deer often making a memorable appearance in the background.
