Guildford Spectrum is one of the largest leisure centres in southern England, offering an impressive range of activities under one roof. The complex features a main swimming pool with a wave machine and water slides, a teaching pool, a diving pool, an Olympic-sized ice rink, a ten-pin bowling alley, an athletics track and extensive gym facilities. For younger children, there is a dedicated soft play area and a learner pool with gentle water features.
The ice rink hosts public skating sessions, ice disco nights and learn-to-skate courses, making it popular with families year-round. The swimming pools offer inflatable fun sessions and pool parties as well as regular lane swimming. The variety of activities means families can easily spend a full day at the centre, switching between swimming, skating and bowling.
Practical Information
Guildford Spectrum is on Parkway in Guildford, close to the A3 and well signposted from the town centre. It is operated by Freedom Leisure on behalf of Guildford Borough Council. Activities are individually priced, and multi-activity passes offer savings for families planning to do several things. No advance booking is needed for most public sessions, though pool party and birthday packages should be reserved ahead. There is a large car park with pay-and-display charges. The centre is open seven days a week, with extended hours during school holidays.
